Many dragon eggs were being transported on a ship by black marketers. These eggs were illegal where they came from so they were being transported to another country. The storm hit and most eggs were lost to the sea. A few came ashore on Gister, these including Saphira, the current Head Dragon, and more. These hatched and thus started the reign of dragons. They grew quickly and the citizens knew to fear these majestic creatures. The dragons felt like they needed to share their power, so they created the system of picking a Rider. However, they recently came up with it, and so they haven't picked them yet. Meanwhile, Gister has been divided into two factions: the Rebellion and the Gister Faction. The Rebellion believes that the King and Queen rule the country poorly, and plan to dethrone them. The Gister Faction is all the citizens of cities of Gister, wether supportive of the King and Queen or not. The knights of the Military often raid small farmer towns or villages even though they are on the same faction. The Rebellion's HQ is located in the mountains. The Dragons have their own system of government. All the dragons picked a Head Dragon when the war started They chose a good leader and a good heart. This was Saphira. Saphira still has yet to pick a Healer Dragon. Saphira knew that the King and Queen were evil at heart and the rest of the dragons agreed in a meeting that they would join the rebellion. However, when they pick their rider, they can pick an unsupportive citizen of the King and Queen from the Gister Faction.
